Straight answers on outsourced business development: what Fullstride does and doesn't do, how it works with your team, how performance is measured, timelines, commitment and pricing.
About the model
What exactly is outsourced business development?
Engaging an external team to perform the work an internal business development function would do (researching target accounts, opening conversations with decision-makers, qualifying opportunities and booking meetings), accountable to your pipeline rather than to a headcount. At Fullstride that function also includes the marketing, systems and creative support the work depends on.
Is Fullstride a lead generation agency?
No. Lead generation agencies typically deliver activity in one channel and hand over a list. Fullstride operates as an integrated growth department: business development, marketing and creative from one brief, measured on qualified commercial conversations rather than “leads.”
Is Fullstride an outsourced sales team?
Partly. We are the outsourced business development team: everything upstream of the sales meeting. We do not typically run your sales meetings or close your deals; your team does. Where a client wants deeper support in the sales process, that is scoped separately.
Can Fullstride replace a BDM?
Yes. That is the most common reason companies engage us; they were about to hire one. Fullstride provides the same function with more capability and less management burden.
Can Fullstride work with our existing BDM or sales team?
Yes. We often operate as the top of the funnel for an existing closer or account team, or add capacity into a new market alongside them.
Do you close sales?
Not as standard. We create and qualify the opportunity and hand it to your closer, briefed and confirmed. We stay involved in follow-up.
Who conducts the sales meetings?
Your team. We book the meeting, brief the person taking it, confirm the prospect and follow up afterwards.
How we work
Do you make cold calls?
Yes. Phone is the fastest way to establish whether there is a real conversation to be had. Our calling is prepared, professional and conversational: the person calling knows your business, your market and the reason for the call. Calling operates alongside email and LinkedIn, not instead of them.
Do you manage email campaigns?
Yes: outbound sequences to prospects and nurture streams for the ones not yet ready, sent from properly configured infrastructure that protects your primary domain.
Do you handle LinkedIn?
Yes. Connection and messaging cadences, and where scoped, content that warms the accounts the BD team is calling into.
Do you work inside our CRM?
Yes. We keep records accurate, stages honest and notes useful, and report from your CRM where possible so the data stays yours.
Which CRM platforms can you work with?
The mainstream B2B platforms: HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho and similar. If you don't have one, we recommend and configure one as part of onboarding.
How do you learn our business?
Structured discovery in the first two weeks: working sessions on your customers, offer, sales process and messaging, followed by a written commercial brief you approve. Nothing goes to market until you've signed off on it.
How do you understand technical or specialised industries?
By doing the discovery properly, writing messaging with you rather than at you, and putting people on the account who are comfortable holding a business conversation with a technical buyer. Technical, industrial and professional-services firms are our natural territory.
Fit and scope
What size businesses do you work with?
Established B2B companies, typically from a few million in revenue to several hundred million: businesses with a proven offer that need structured new business development but may not want to build a large internal commercial team.
What industries do you work with?
Professional services, technology and SaaS, manufacturing, construction and engineering, industrial and logistics services, business services, healthcare, financial services, commercial real estate, energy, distribution and equipment supply, among others. The common thread is a considered B2B purchase with real deal economics.
Can you help us enter a new market?
Yes. Market entry is one of the most common uses of the BD function: a team that can test a new region, vertical or service line, generate the first conversations and report back on what the market is saying, before you hire ahead of revenue. We also have an international arm.
What happens if we already have a marketing agency?
We coordinate with them. The aim is one strategy, not more vendors. Where it makes sense we'll plug into what they're doing; where there's duplication we'll say so.
Timing, commitment and measurement
How quickly can we launch?
Onboarding typically runs two to three weeks before outreach begins, depending on how quickly your side can supply access, approvals and input.
What does onboarding involve?
Discovery sessions, a written commercial brief, definition of a qualified opportunity, target list and messaging build, collateral, CRM and infrastructure setup, and reporting agreed, all reviewed and approved by you before launch.
How long are engagements?
Three months minimum, then month to month on thirty days' notice. Three months is the shortest period over which an outbound programme can be honestly assessed; we don't ask for longer lock-ins.
Is there a long-term commitment?
No. After the initial three months, you continue month to month.
How is performance measured?
Weekly, against the definition of qualified opportunity we agreed in writing: accounts worked, conversations with decision-makers, qualified leads, meetings booked and held, opportunities created and pipeline value, plus what we're changing next.
Do you guarantee results?
We do not guarantee revenue or closed business. No honest provider can, because closing depends on your offer, your pricing and your sales team. What we do is define qualified meetings precisely, agree a planning floor for the programme, and put make-good terms in the agreement if that floor is missed.
How much does Fullstride cost?
Current launch pricing: a one-time setup of $1,500; the Dedicated BDM engagement at $4,299 per month; the Growth Pod at $7,499 per month. Marketing and lead generation retainers run $3,000 to $7,500 per month and web and creative projects $4,500 to $15,000. All engagements carry a three-month minimum. Founding clients lock pricing for twelve months.
Why is pricing structured this way?
Because a growth function is a standing capability, not a per-lead commodity. Monthly engagement pricing lets us staff, tool and plan the programme properly. If you would prefer to share the risk on a first engagement, ask us on the call.
